Pre School Classes
Children are accepted for the Pre School classes from the age of three years. The classes are enormous fun, highly imaginative, and include basic ballet exercises, and musical movement of varying quality. A pianist is always present. Parents are welcome to stay with their child until he or she is happy and confident. We have a special "watching day" at the end of every term for family and friends. Children continue in this class until they are ready to join the Pre Primary group at about the age of four and a half years. Numbers are strictly limited in order to allow each child sufficient individual attention to make good progress.
Royal Academy of Dance
Children's Grades Pre Primary to Grade VIII
Tuition is available in all the Royal Academy of Dance grades. Pupils are given the opportunity to take examinations and assessments, but these are in no way compulsory, and those who are ready may progress to a higher grade without being tested. Extra lessons may be necessary prior to examinations. When studying the Higher Grades VI, VII, and VIII, more than one lesson per week is recommended.

Major Grades
These are the professional examinations of the Royal Academy of Dance. Coaching is available either individually or in groups. Former students who have been successful in these examinations have been accepted for further professional training at vocational schools, or have taken university degree courses in dance or the performing arts. Major students attend specialised classes at the Royal Academy headquarters in London, are entered for scholarship auditions, and are encouraged to audition for dancing parts in local productions.
Adult Classes
We welcome adults of all ages to our Beginners' classes, and Intermediate Adult (for those with some previous ballet training). Adult students have taken some of the leading roles in our ballets, for example in The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty.
Further information on all courses is available see our Contacts page for details.
